As I write this, my phone is lighting up with messages from our team:

“Can we help him?” 

“Did you hear? So sad.”

“I can’t stop thinking about him…his leg is gone!”

“How terrible for everyone.”

After years of witnessing cruelty firsthand, you might think our team would grow a bit numb. Instead, our hearts seem to somehow only grow bigger – desperate to take away every suffering animal’s pain. When I looked down and saw the carnage this 5-week-old puppy – who we’ve lovingly named Tadpole – just survived…I knew we would do anything to help, and that his story will never leave us.

I’ll spare you all the horrific details; they are hard to stomach. Tadpole was brutally and viciously attacked by another dog. His back leg ripped from his body.

He’s fighting to stay here with us.

And so we are fighting for him.
