Friends,
Sometimes the most powerful stories are written in the quiet resilience of a community with a shared goal. This year, your compassion has created moments of joy and connection that words can barely capture. As we reflect on how far we’ve come and look to what’s ahead, one truth remains clear: love is carrying us forward.
More than 450 Brother Wolf animals have already been welcomed into loving homes in 2025! Dogs who once knew only cold concrete now sprawl across couches, dreaming of tennis balls. Cats once in kennels now purr on warm laps, basking in the kind of love that heals pain. Each animal carries a story of resilience and each animal carries your fingerprints… because none of it would have been possible without our community’s compassion.

Thanks to your support of our Stay Together program, more than 350 families have been able to keep their beloved animals. Sometimes that help looks like what Dolly Rose needed…

Dolly Rose’s caretaker had lost their home, and was sleeping in a truck, desperate to keep her dog safe while working to rebuild her life. “She’s my everything. I can’t give her up. I love her more than I can say.” Thanks to your support, Dolly Rose came to stay with Brother Wolf for a short time while her mom got back on her feet. When they were reunited, there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. The joy, the relief, the unshakable bond between them – it was a moment that reminded us all why our work together matters so deeply. They only needed 30 days, and now they are building a new, beautiful life. Thanks to you, they are back on their feet, together.
This year, over 500 animals have been cared for in Brother Wolf foster homes. That’s 500+ times someone opened their door, cleared space on the couch, and said, “You’re safe here until your family comes along.” Every foster placement is an act of pure love, and together they add up to a chorus of kindness that saves lives.

Even without a building of our own right now, Brother Wolf continues to answer the call from shelters across Western North Carolina. When rural shelters are filled beyond capacity, your support allows us to say, yes, we can help. When animals need urgent transfer to safety, we can say yes. Again and again, this community has made it possible for us to extend a lifeline to animals who might otherwise have been lost to an overwhelmed shelter system.
Behind the scenes, something even bigger is growing: our vision for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue’s new home. Our team has been walking land, reviewing surveys, planning with architects and civil engineers, and dreaming up the shelter that will rise from this chapter of resiliency — a space built to honor every animal who comes through our doors and every person who believes, as we do, that the bond between people and animals can transform the world. We’re not ready to spill all the details just yet, but we can promise you this: the future is bright, and we can’t wait to share it with you soon.
Through it all, what has carried us is the strong heart of this community and people like you. Your compassion, your belief, your love, your insistence that hope will endure.
So when we look at what we’ve accomplished together after something so deeply tragic—hundreds of adoptions, hundreds of families kept whole, hundreds of foster homes opened, countless lives touched—we see more than numbers. We see love in action. We see resilience. We see your impact at work.
And as we look to the future, we carry that hope forward. The best chapters of Brother Wolf’s story are still ahead, and we are so grateful to be writing them with you.
With hearts full of gratitude,
The Brother Wolf Team
