Josie tried to run.

When two larger dogs came for her, she did everything she could to escape — scrambling, stumbling, her small legs working as fast as they could. But she couldn’t get away. By the time help reached her, her back legs were badly damaged. She was trembling with fear and clinging to life.

When Josie arrived at Brother Wolf, she was understandably unsure and overwhelmed. Her eyes darted, her body low to the ground, her trust hanging by a thread.

Josie greeted us with the gentlest spirit. A soft tail wag. A tiny lean into a kind hand. A fragile, hopeful question: Am I safe now?

And because of this community — she is.

Piccolo came to one of our shelter partners as a stray. He was barely alive, and they didn’t have the resources to save him. He was so small and weak that he couldn’t stand on his own.

He wouldn’t eat — not because he didn’t want to, but because he simply didn’t have the strength.

So our team syringe-fed him, drop by drop, every few hours. They held him close so he could feel their warm bodies. They whispered kind words to him. They waited for signs of the fight in his heart.

And slowly… Piccolo came back.
First, a stronger swallow.
Then a steadier breath.
Then a tiny, determined bite of solid food on his own.
