Brother Wolf McDowell County, NC Chapter

Brother Wolf McDowell County Chapter

Brother Wolf’s McDowell County chapter was founded in 2016 to bring Brother Wolf’s No-Kill mission to our community.

Historically, McDowell County has been one of the highest-kill counties in Western NC — with only about 8% of animals making it out of the county shelter alive. By developing a strong and passionate network of animal lovers in McDowell County and surrounding areas, Brother Wolf was able to rescue more than 500 animals in McDowell County in 2017!

We work closely with our county shelter and local administrators to improve county shelter conditions, bring more visibility to the animals, and — most importantly — bring awareness and solutions to McDowell County residents. We are proud that in our first year as a Brother Wolf chapter, the county shelter’s live release rate has increased to over 85%!

Our goals in 2018 include building a stronger and more expansive foster program, creating a larger volunteer network, continuing to improve conditions for shelter animals, and working towards building our own Brother Wolf McDowell No-Kill Adoption Center.

We appreciate your support. Together we will make McDowell a No-Kill Community!
