Did you get our newsletter in the mail last week? It’s about a matter urgent to our No-Kill mission: the proliferation of puppy mills in North Carolina. You can view an online version of that newsletter here.
Humane officials are saying North Carolina is becoming a national haven for puppy mills due to lack of regulatory oversight. Indeed, there are an estimated 250 puppy mills fully operational in our state- just think of all that suffering. Keeps me up at night.
Please donate now to our Athena Fund to support our puppy mill investigations and rapid response work.
On a weekly basis, we get calls from the public with horror stories about conditions at Puppy Mills. Our Athena Fund supports ongoing field investigations to keep up with the increasing numbers of complaints about puppy mill conditions in our area. Some of these facilities are so secretive and protected by folks of high power, you’d be amazed….
We named the Athena Fund after this little kitten who was rescued from a puppy mill in Rutherford County last month. She came to us with all sorts of health problems, and as you can see, she’s doing much better now.
And here’s baby Kai, who finally hit 1 (one!) lb yesterday. Kai was a sickly, 5 1/2 ounces when he first came to us from that puppy mill bust four weeks ago— now he’s doing just great. Keya, his mom, who was used for repeated breeding there, was terrified of human touch when she first came to us. After just four weeks in our foster care, she’s now letting herself be petted and loved.Â
These transformations are always so miraculous to me, but I know they would not be possible without your support. If you’ve not yet had a chance to donate to our Athena fund, please click here to donate now. Your donation of $20 or more— or whatever you can give— will be used to expand our puppy mill investigations and rapid response work.
We have a few urgent cases where we need to upgrade our investigative efforts right away, so please donate today. If you’ve already sent in your donation— Thank You.
Yours for the animals,
Founder and President
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue
P.S. When you donate, you can make yours a recurring, monthly donation and help us stay better prepared throughout the year for this rapid response work.
