Underdogs
Usually a dog or cat we bring in is adopted in a few weeks or a month or two; some go the next day! But then there are the pets we have in our shelter or foster homes for many months to more than a year. Some pets need a special home - without children or other pets, or a quiet, low energy family - and sometimes the pets have special medical needs. Then there are breed and color issues that make an otherwise perfecty adotable pet take a lot longer than others to find their forever homes. If you've thought about adding a new four-legged member to your family, please consider some of these great pets!
Buddy
Buddy has been living at our shelter for over a year now. How sad for him that he does not have a home of his own when all Buddy really wants to do is to curl up on your couch. Buddy is a 6 year old hound dog mix who has survived heartworm treatment all to just sit and wait for his family to come adopt him. Buddy prefers to be the only four legged creature in the house but loves all 2 legged creatures, big and small. Buddy would love a friend to take him on walks and give him unending belly rubs. Please consider adopting Buddy today.
Brewster
Brewster is a 4-year old 20lb minnie Aussie mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation. He is on medication for seizures an we would LOVE to find this great dog his forever home to finally enjoy some peace and quiet! He's been with us for some time because of his special needs; if not for this condition this handsome guy would surely have been adopted already. He gets along with cats and dogs and loves to be held and petted. Please email for more information.
Sally
Sally is a 3 year old chow mix looking for a human to show her kindness after living her whole life chained to the bumper of a car, going for days without food or water. She needs someone who will introduce her to all the world has to offer with patience. Once Sally trusts you, she will love you forever and snuggle and kiss you. She takes longer to warm up to men, than women, but with time can accept men. Sally is wonderful in her foster home. She taught herself to go to the bathroom only outside, by notwanting to dirty her kennel, when she was at the BWAR shelter. She has never had an accident in the house and is completely trustworthy when left alone. She will "gather" shoes and things from her human to keep with her when she sleeps, but has never destroyed anything. She does great with the cats in her foster home and will slowly be introduced to the dogs. She has spent time on leash at events with other dogs and done well. Sally would do best in a home without constant strangers visiting. She does learn to accept visitors over a period of time, but it does take multiple visits. Sally has been waiting almost a year now for her forever family to find her. She is an absolutely wonderful, loving girl who just needs that family to understand she had a rough start. If you're looking for a dog to love you with all she's got - Sally is the girl for you.
Mia & Delia
Mia and Delia are both 4 year old girls who lost their home when their person was evicted. They both tend to be is shy at first but are really sweet once they get to know you. She will climb in your lap and be very happy to look out a window or take a nap. She goes wild for any teaser toy and loves cardboard scratching posts. Delia is a very independent gal who can be a little shy at first but really wants her own person to love ost her home when her person was evicted. She enjoys weaving against your legs when she wants to say hello. She. She prefers to be the only cat in the household and is very loyal. She will be very happy if you wave a teaser toy back and forth. Email Karen at kscoolcats@gmail.com if you'd like to meet this pretty kitty! Email Karen at kscoolcats@gmail.com if you'd like to meet either of these very pretty ladies!
Biscuit
Biscuit is a 1 1/2 to 2 year old Shepherd mix. She is a loving and playful dog and loves to play fetch. Biscuit likes to be the alpha dog so she is selective about the dogs she likes. She would be great as an only dog or in a home with one other playful companion. No cats please! She knows basic commands and will adore you and the love you give. Biscuit is really a great dog that has been in search of a loving home for way too long. Give her a chance and she will win your heart!
Yogi
Yogi is a 7 year old super sweet lap kitty and needs the comfort of his person's lap. He doesn't have many teeth and surprisingly prefers dry food to wet food. Yogi is very playful when his person waves a teaser toy and in the end?this boy is all about you. He may crouch occasionally when someone walks quickly around him, however that is probably because he grew up in a busy grooming salon. Email Karen at kscoolcats@gmail.com if you'd like to meet this pretty kitty!
