Killian
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue recently got this email from Carey about her dog Killian:
"Just a little update on Killian. He is doing wonderfully! I've had him a year now, and I can't imagine life without him. I am so blessed that you all saved him in TN and even more thankful that you brought him into my world.
Killian has not only won my affections but those of the Veterinary staff, pet store workers, condo residents, and my friends. Everyone who meets him says he has the best temperament and disposition. He is a true lover and charmer. He is wonderful with people and has yet to meet a dog or a cat he doesn't like.
I know this isn't the case with all rescue animals and I credit this amazing disposition to youall. Instead of being locked in a cage, Tammy took him in and fostered him with her dogs. Killian probably thought he was in dog heaven with all of those playmates.
Aside from a great temperament, he has a special intiution for working with people with special needs. I have a neighbor who has a son who is autistic. When he first moved in he wouldn't even look up or talk to us. Killian soon won him over and now they are the best of friends. They both are more than excited to see each other and often before bed he will come over to give Killian a hug goodnight. Killian will put his head on his shoulder and accepts this special expression of love from a little boy who stuggles to show emotion or connect with the outside world.
I have seen this same ability in his interaction with my grandmother who has Alzheimer's. Having been a counselor for many years, I recognize his special talent and may soon have him trained as a therapy dog to do work up at the hospital. He definitely is special and not just to me.
Keep up all of your great work and thank you again!"
