Indiana

Jackson came to Brother Wolf Canine Rescue after a group in Polk County called us and told us that there were 200 dogs that needed rescuing, all being chained in a hoarding situation.

We immediately agreed to take in Jackson, as well as his sister Carlie, and later some other dogs, including Evie (who was later adopted to a wonderful family in Montana!)

When Jackson got to us, he was amazed to learn how to live life off of a chain. He was very shy at first, but was a loving and sweet dog, and loved to give kisses and get petted. He loved women, but was very afraid of men. And yet amazingly, Jackson, who was later re-named by his adopter as "Indiana", was adopted by a man!

"When I first met Indiana, he was terrified of me, and didn't really want to have anything to do with me. But after several months of caring for him and loving him, he came around. I worked hard to make him feel part of my family and part of the pack. And to make of for the years of neglect he suffered. At first, I would take him to the dog park and he would be so shy, he would just hide behind my legs. Now when we get there, he goes running out and plays with other dogs and lets people pet him, and has so much fun! He loves to swim in the pond there. You would never imagine that he was once a chained dog. I'm so grateful to Brother Wolf Canine Rescue for saving his life. I can't imagine that he can even remember what his life used to be like! His life now is so full of love and fun!"
