Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and Dr. Boatwright, DVM, will be holding a rabies/shot and microchip clinic at Candler Feed and Seed/Moondoggies shopping Center, 1263 Smoky Park Highway, on Sunday September 5th from 1-4. We will also have a limited amount of low cost spay/neuter vouchers available!
Join with area artists, and enjoy some art, wine, and music while helping Brother Wolf Animal Rescue save lives! For Pet's Sake is a group art show celebrating our furry friends
and the joy that they bring into our lives. They teach us how to love unconditionally, to forgive quickly and to live in the moment. The evening will feature live music, refreshments, food, and a silent auction of select items. Artists represented by BlackBird plus several guest artists will present entertaining and inspirational works drawn from their own experiences with pets. Through September 30th, the artists and BlackBird will donate 20% of proceeds from these works to Brother Wolf. Drew Findley of Subject Matter Studio, one of the region’s most popular graphic designers, has generously made available for this occasion a signature screen print, a limited edition of 50 hand-pulled prints on archival paper, each signed and numbered and accompanied by a certificate for $30 toward framing. The full price of $75 for each package will be donated 100% to BWAR. For those who enjoy a little spirited bidding, a select group of valuable items and gift packages donated by BWAR’s generous supporters will be given away by silent auction. Along with the food, drinks and music, you may acquire a real treasure in support of important work. You can hang out with great people and meet some of Asheville’s finest artists. Bring a friend or invite your neighbor to help make this event successful in support of a good paws …or cause, that is!

Join the Outward Hounds. Our shelter dogs deserve a break from their busy week, and we bet you could use one too! Outward Hounds meets every Wednesday at 10am when we leash up some sweet shelter dogs and head out to explore one of WNC's beautiful hiking trails. Recent trips have been to Rattlesnake Lodge, Bent Creek, Lake Powhatan, and Catawba Falls. The hikers and dogs are all having a blast! Come on down to the shelter to pair up with an adoptable dog and join us! Email volunteer@bwar.org for the week's location or more info. Please leave your own furry friends at home; hikers must be 18 years or older to walk a dog alone.
