Bungee

Let me tell you about my first 48 hours with my new family. The lady with the kids and the tall man brought me home in that nice carrier. The man petted me and talked to while we were in the moving box (I think you call it a car). I really don't like being in the moving box and I cried until the moving box stopped moving.

The lady carried me into the new house. It's kind of nice. Lots of chairs and a big couch to hide under. There is a scratching post for when I get big and need to tear something up. (the lady said the couch and especially the leather chair is off limits for scratching.) There are little mouse toys and I think I smelled catnip. It made me sneeze.

The lady asked all of the kids to sit on the couch and to be quiet as she got my new big sister, Sable, so we could meet for the first time. Sable came from the pound and didn't have a good foster family before she came home with our new family. She was with her sister at the pound but then her sister was gone and Sable got scared and didn't understand what was happening. She went home with another family but for some reason they couldn't keep her so that's when my new family found her and brought her home forever and always. I kind of think she got used to being an only child. I don't want to replace her at all. I just want her to like me.

She growled a little at me and hissed at me. So I stayed in my carrier and everyone talked really nice to me and petted Sable and told her it was okay.

I got kind of bored because Sable kept on yelling at me so I laid down in my carrier and the family made dinner. The bigger little people kept me company and tried to talk Sable into being nice. They gave her treats to try to soften her up... Let's just say that she is just as stubborn as I am cute.

The lady and tall man sat on the floor in the living room and unzipped my carrier and invited me to come out and explore my new home. I was kind of shy with 4 people staring at me waiting for me to come out. Also Sable started really yelling at me (I think she said "I didn't want a baby brother!!") so it took a while before I wanted to come out of the carrier. Plus it's really soft with a nice lambswool liner so I actually like hanging out in there.

When I did come out I was ready to play. And play I did. The lady and the tall man laughed a lot when I tumbled and chased things. A remote control for the TV fell off the couch and SCARED me and my nubby tail POOFED out like a cotton ball. That really made the lady and the man giggle. I think they thought it was adorable.

It was 10:30 before we got settled into be. The lady is letting me stay in her bedroom. It's really nice. I have my own bathroom, food and water bowl that are just my size (I'm borrowing some of the little human's tea set saucers) and they brought the carrier up the in room so I could have my "safe place" with me.

I didn't sleep too well the first night. I cried when the lights went off. I kind of felt like everyone had left me. So the lady and the tall man scooped me up and had me in their bed. I purred really loud because I was so happy that they hadn't left. I wound up sleeping by the lady's head for the rest of the night.

Since then it's been pretty good here. Sable is still yelling at me a little bit but I am so happy I really don't notice. I follow the lady around the house and Sable kind of ignores me except when I walk right in front of her and then she hisses and tells me to stay away. And I listen to her!!

The little humans are really nice. They love to pet and hold me. And most of the time I love it too. The one that they call Gabriel is my special buddy. He held me last night and I so relaxed that I almost fell asleep in his lap.

Today is going to be a long day away from my new family. The lady had to go to work this morning and then she and the kids have an appointment in the evening... The lady made sure I had fresh water and lots of food. Plus she made sure my bathroom was cleaned this morning. But I can't wait till they get home so I can snuggle and love on them.

Thank you for taking care of me the way you did, Pam, when I was with you. Tell my brothers and sisters I am doing great and I hope they find their forever homes soon too!!

Love,
Bungee!
